Alpine Bluebells (Mertensia alpina)

It is edible. The flowers can be eaten raw; however, the leaves are hairy and need
to be boiled. It is a good source of vitamins and minerals. DaySounds discourages
the consumption of tundra plants in heavily used areas--unless there is a real
emergency and you can't hike down to the sub-alpine or montane ecosystems.
