Red-belted Bracket Fungus (Fomitopsis pinicola)

It strengthens and boosts the immune system. It reduces allergies and inflammations. It is good to fight high-altitude
sickness by boosting oxygen uptake in the blood. Protects and improves liver function. It has anti-hypertension effects
(especially arterial blood pressure). It helps the regulation of blood sugar levels. It boosts stamina. It can be used as a
treatment for bacterial and/or intestinal parasites. Improves brain functions and nerve cell growth.

Tea can be made with it (crushing it to powder first--1/4 cup to 1 quart of water). Its hardness doesn't make it edible;
however, it is not toxic either.

If consumed regularly, it should be in very small amounts; otherwise, it can have side effects, such as problems in the
digestive system and excessive blood thinning.
