Bristlecone Pine (Pinus aristata)-B
Basic Identification:
The trunk and branches are, to a certain degree, twisted. The needles grow in bundles of 5 and are 1-2 inches
long. Female cones are about 3-4 inches long, and have hard scales, often graced with resin. The seed scales
develop long bristles--more or less in the middle (dorsal umbo), not the end (terminal umbo).
