Chokecherry, Chokeberry (Prunus virginiana melanocarpa)

The black cherries are edible (with astringent properties). The rest of the plant is mildly poisonous,
including unripe (red) berries--even though some people make tea with the inner bark (if ingested
in large quantities, however, it can cause respiratory system failure and death).
