Coral-root Orchid (Corallorhiza maculata)
The plant looks like an ugly stick with "blisters" when it doesn't have flowers;
however, it is a medicinal plant. Despite not having chlorophyll and being unable
to do photosynthesis, it provides us with the following benefits: it is a sedative,
and it helps to bring down fever and anxiety. The best way to use it is by making
a tea and drinking a cup twice a day. The tea should be made with, at most, 1
inch of the plant per cup of water (you can use the roots or the stems). If the
proportion is increased or it is drunk more often, it can become toxic.
