Meadow Mushroom (Agaricus campestris)

The cap (white) can grow to a diameter of about 4-5 inches. If a part is bruised or cut,
it doesn't become yellow (unlike silvicola); as a matter of fact, it doesn't change color--
generally; however, at times, that part becomes light brown. The gills are pinkish when
in the early stages; then, they become dark-pink/brownish; and at the last stages, they
become dark-brown to black (near the cap's outer rim). The cap itself becomes light
brown when old. As you can see in the pictures, the stem doesn't have a real cup under it.
It is white, it has a little left over ring (or none), and its total length is about the same as
the diameter of its cap.

It is an edible fungus, which has been used for millennia as food, to strengthen body
and mind, and to assist them to fight diseases. A poultice made with the crushed stems
can be used to treat soreness.
