Miner's Candle (Cryptantha Virgata)
It is a hairy, prickly plant avoided by both browsers and grazers. Birds like to eat the seeds. There is little known about
any possible medicinal or food uses. It was used in the past as a candle: people would dip the upper part in wax, oil, or
resin, let it dry, and light it for the occasion.
