It grows at high elevations (montane, subalpine, & alpine life zones).
This picture was taken in the Fall, approximately at 11,000 feet
above sea level, surrounded by rocks and dead leaves. As this plant,
with God's help, we can bloom where we are, even when everything
around us--including ourselves--appears to be hopelessly dead.
