Prickly Poppy (Argemone polyanthemos)

Even though some people have used a tea made with the leaves as a purgative, the risks involved
to get seriously ill are not worth it: It is poisonous. Do not eat. Externally, the sap has been used by
American Indians to treat minor skin problems, such as sunburn, warts, and pimples. However, this
latter use may produce allergic reactions and compound the problem. If you want to try it, apply just
a little bit of sap over a small part of your skin first, wait 1 day, and see what happens.
