Yellow Sweet Clover (Melilotus officinalis)
If yarrow is used to treat diarrhea, yellow sweet clover is a laxative. It is also helpful in
removing gas from the digestive system, and it is a diuretic. Since it is a blood thinner, it
could be used to treat varicose veins and hemorrhoids. It can also be used to improve
conditions of irritability, insomnia and heart palpitations. The regular usage of this plant
should be avoided because of the chemical dicoumarin that it contains.
The white flower species (alba) has the same survival properties.
